My favorite wax right now
Getting straight to the point, Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax will result in stunning gloss even on your Tesla. But that’s not the only reason I love it. It’s also unbelievably easy to apply and doesn’t stain plastic. Read my full review below about why I think its the best wax for your Tesla in 2021.
But there are other types of wax you should know about. Like the amazing new spray and rinse waxes I talk about below.
You can use multiple types of products together.
I usually apply a spray and rinse wax after each wash. Ill apply a liquid or spray wax a few times a year. Spray and rinse waxes take seconds to apply which is why I love them.
Preparing a car for a fresh coat of wax.
- Your car must be freshly washed. If your car has dust and dirt on it when you wax it you will scratch it and the shine will quickly fade.
- Your car should be dry. Except for a spray and rinse wax. Dry your car with a proper plush drying towel and not a bathroom towel.
- Your car should be cool to the touch. You can end up with streaking on your paint if the wax is applied when the paint is warm. So park in the shade.

- Use an iron remover spray like Carpro Iron-X.

Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax Review and Tips.
Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is the best overall wax in my opinion. The gloss levels it achieves will leave you speechless. And it’s so easy to apply when compared to so many other waxes in the market. Another huge plus is that it can be applied to plastic. Many waxes stain plastic.
It delivers great water beading. At least as good as anything else on the market.
It’s very easy to buff off. Some products need plenty of elbow grease. Not this.
Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is applied in the usual manner. I used a foam applicator pad to apply and let it bond for a minute or two. Then buff off with a soft microfibre towel.
Because you don’t need to use much elbow grease to apply this product, there is no need to clay your car first. Some products need plenty of pressure to buff off. This buffing causes bonded dirt like tar to become detached from your paint and cause scratches.
There are three products in the hybrid ceramic range from Meguiars. They are designed to work together and I have found all three to be very effective. I use the spray detailer when drying my car as it’s slickness reduces scratches and slightly boosts gloss. It’s also good for removing dust and bird poop emergencies.
Liquid wax comes in a bottle and is applied with an applicator pad. They also sell Hybrid Ceramic Wax which is a spray wax. This is easier to apply but doesn’t add as much shine in my opinion but its still very good. You just spray it on to a wet car and rinse off. Then dry as normal.
You can also apply Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax with a polishing machine. Doing it this way can reduce some light swirl marks. It’s probably the pad that removes the scratches and not the liquid as it’s not a polish.
Two month after application of the product and three washes and my car still looks waxed.
Also the plastic trim on my car still has a deep black look. It had started to go a little faded and the liquid wax gave it a fantastic boost.
Conclusion
Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax is a modern superwax that gives you the long lasting shine you are looking for. Its so easy to apply. All you need to do is wash your car first.
